Historical Milestone of CLTRI

1998: CLTRI received “National Award for Rehabilitation disabled people “By Ministry of Social Justice, Govt of India.

2004:   Dr. H. Shriniwasan, eminent RCS Surgeon Ex. Director CLTRI received Gandhi International Award  

August 2005:  Officer Memorandum passed by Ministry of Health and family welfare for restructuring of CLTRI. In which CLTRI has been given additional responsibility of CBHI training, Disease surveillance, RNTCP drug resistance surveillance, Voluntary Counselling Testing Centre (VCTC), filarial research

Dec 2005: India declared Elimination of Leprosy at National Level

2006:  Some Lab Division staff has been sent TRC Chennai for RNCTCP training but it was not meterialised properly. Then Director CLTRI Sent Letter to ministry that due lack staff and no Public Health specialist presently available, hence we are not in position to take additional responsibility, in contrast RLTRI Raipur has took all responsibility and  has  given additional responsibility of Sr. Regional Director, ROHFW, Chhattisgarh.

2007:  The International Federation of Societies for Surgery of the Hand awarded to Dr.Harisrinivasan, CLTRI Alumni “Pioneer of Hand Surgery”

1/08/2008: CLTRI RFOA area has been closed after integration of NLEP in General health care system by Central Leprosy Division.  ....more
